This policy explains how SkyOps ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our app and receive our WhatsApp alerts. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya, and handle personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and phone number.
- App data: the information you enter or connect in the app, and the settings that decide which alerts you receive.
- Message records: which alerts we sent to you, when, and whether they were delivered.
How we use your information
- To run the app and provide the features you use.
- To send you alerts and notifications you asked for, including through WhatsApp.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it.
- To reply to your questions and requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
WhatsApp messages
We send WhatsApp alerts only to users who have given us their phone number and agreed to receive them. Messages are sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., so Meta processes your phone number and the message content to deliver them. Meta's own privacy policy applies to that processing. You can stop WhatsApp alerts at any time by turning them off in the app, replying STOP, or emailing us at the address below.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app, such as hosting and messaging providers (including Meta for WhatsApp delivery). They may use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. After that we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including restricted access and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, to stop or limit how we use it, and to withdraw your consent to WhatsApp alerts. To make a request, email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Data deletion
To have your data deleted, email operations@skyops.co.ke from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my data". We will delete your information and confirm by email.
Children
Our service is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you through the app or by email.
